This is a book that I feel like splits this world. It splits the world into people who read it and loved it and people who bought it, read the first 50 pages and put it down again.
I used to be the latter, but now I am hooked. I have started to abandon such menial tasks as eating or sleeping in order to follow up with Cassie Sullivan’s life and it is really stressing me out that people still expect me to go to school… LIKE PLEASE I AM READING RIGHT HERE
Okay before I get to talking about the book, I just want to mention how pissed of I am at the fact that people seem to be unable to understand that me reading is NOT the sign for ‘please talk to me’. When I am reading, I am enveloped in my book. I am living in the world of the book, and breathing the air of the pages. And if some B*tch then comes up to me and taps me on the arm, you better believe I will kill them of. Gosh, this is one of the few things that put me into a rage!
Anyways, lets get back to the book! The 5th wave is a dystopia story full of sadness, fear and tension. The book has somewhat of a slow start, but once you are into it, it well not let you go. I have been carrying it with me, wherever I go, even if I KNOW that I won’t be able to read there.
Story break down: Somewhere during Cassies 17th year, the mothership arrives. It is literally an UFO, an unidentified flying object. No one knows what it is. But then the 1st wave hits… and electricity goes of. And the second wave comes, and rain falls, causing tsunamis… Bye bye west coast. And then the Red death comes, killing millions of the population. In the 4th wave, the aliens just go straight to the point and start shooting people. And now it is the dawn of the 5th wave and Cassie has no one but herself to rely on. Will she make it? I DON’T KNOW because I am only on page 235 of 557 (I think) and it is driving me crazy that I have all those stupid responsibilities!
This is one of my top 5 books, I have read in a long time and is right up there with Harry Potter (even though magic does make everything better). Anyways, if you have read this book… CONGRATULATIONS! If you haven’t… *shoves book into your face* READ IT!!
So this is something you have to read… I won’t call it a must read, since that is what I call literally every book. I will call it a classic 😛
Lot’s of Love and stay save from the others!
