So I have finally finished my first-ever Dan Brown novel and honestly… Ehhh.
I mean it wasn’t horrible but again ehh…
The plot of the book, whilst not predictable moved forward slowly and was rather hard to get into. The complex vocabulary and descriptions, whilst partly very educating, also slowed the story down extremely and made every event about thrice the length it would actually have to be.
Story Break down:
Robert Langdon wakes up in Italy. He has no memory of anything that has happened in the last 48 hours. All he knows is that there are people trying to kill him. With nothing but a few lines of Dantes Inferno, Langdon and his companion Sienna Brooks need to solve the mystery, whilst constantly being followed by several authorities, all chasing their own goals.
Personally, it took me ages to get through this book. My copy had about 600 pages and the story started actually picking up around the last 50 pages. Over all, if you have a lot of free time and need something that will make you feel smarter afterwards, THIS IS YOUR BOOK. But if you are looking for something exiting with some actual pace, keep looking, this is not a book for you!
Over all, I am glad I read the book but I would not read it again… EVER
